An apocalyptic adventure set in the world of zombies. Given the ‘Z’ word in the previous sentence, you’d be surprised to learn that this is also a love story.
This is a game of the year for me. And possibly a contender for the decade. An emotional roller coaster where the world is sinking away into chaos, but you can still find yourself searching for more.
The game is not perfect, it has bugs, but the bugs have been minimized over the past few updates from the developer and those patches have provided a near-perfect game to enhance what was already a visual treat. There are games that can have all types of things that work in its favour. This has several. The acting alone is top notch, but the story, and the music are what sets this apart. It is one of those games where the musical score now plays in rotation and likely will for the foreseeable future.
Not enough time has passed, but I am already itching to replay this gem of a game, if not for any other reason, but to try to complete the game 100% next time including all challenges.
The story is not unique. Zombies. However, they use the setting to achieve much more including the character development to not just fight, but to live in a world where they exist, and even continue to search for the one they love after so many years of looking. I can’t recommend this game enough for all the elements listed above, but for so much more.
