The adventure where you really need to hike your socks up into your pants.

Coming into this game, I had high expectations as the previous installment gave us a fantastic adventure set in the middle ages during the plague. The story revolves around siblings Hugo and Amicia who set off on an adventure to find out why the plague and the rats infesting the world seem to react differently to young Hugo.
While everything about this game feels like a coming home where the first game left off, I did find it challenging to recall elements in the game since the first installment came out a few years ago. However, that doesn’t take away from the beauty, the sounds (oh that musical score), and the visuals as this is a title that looks and feels every bit a triple A title despite the fewer people working on the game.
While the musical score in the first game (in my mind) is one of the best found in gaming, this sequel holds its own quite nicely. I found myself at times keeping the game in the background on the menu and just letting the musical score play while I was doing other errands.
The game lasted 26 hours, but for me, it went by so much faster, and in a few days was already looking online for possible windows to a potential 3rd game in the series. If you are looking for an emotional rollercoaster and to satisfy all your adventure cravings, I highly recommend this title. What are you waiting for?
